Present The Best You!

As most of you know, I've spent the last year working from home, and Monday marks my return to an actual office! While there are definitely perks of working from home, I'm actually really excited to go back to an office, and more specifically, to have a reason to get dressed every day!

That's why I thought it was perfect timing when Monster.com approached me about participating in their "Present The Best You" contest! They asked me to share some tips with you all about dressing for the work place, and after some careful thought, I decided it all came down to one thing for me - the power of a blazer!

A good fitting, non-stuffy, not too corporate blazer is a young professional's wardrobe staple! This particular one I have worn to everything from board meetings to cocktails! If you're anything like me, you don't want to pour your money into super corporate work-only clothes... I want my pieces to be versatile to maximize wear, so I've learned that throwing a blazer over almost anything makes it instantly office appropriate!

Exhibit A: Board Meeting Ready - pair an already work appropriate dress with a blazer and a few fun but simple accessories!

(Blazer: BB Dakota, Dress: Vero Moda, Bag: c/o A Girl's Next Best Friend Sunglasses: Joe Fresh, Tights: H&M, Shoes and Belt: Aldo, Bracelet: c/o Lauren Elan Watch: Michael Kors)

Exhibit B: Every Day Office Wear - pair all of your favorite skirts and dresses that might not be quite work appropriate on their own with the blazer to tone it down and add a professional flair! This is my personal favorite option, as it allows you to get a lot of wear out of all your favorite pieces!

(Blazer: BB Dakota, Dress: BB Dakota, Bag: Aldo, Sunglasses: Joe Fresh, Tights: H&M, Shoes: Aldo, Necklace and Bracelet: c/o Lauren Elan, Watch: Michael Kors)

Exhibit C: Casual Friday - depending on your workplace, how casual your "Casual Friday's" are may vary. Throwing a blazer on with your jeans keeps you looking well put together and professional, and is still chic enough for post work drinks!

(Blazer: BB Dakota, Blouse: Romwe, Jeans: IT Jeans, Boots: Aldo, Necklace: Silver Daisy, Bag: Aldo, Sunglasses: Joe Fresh, Bracelet: c/o Shlomit Ofir, Watch: Michael Kors)

Monster.com recently launched BeKnown, a professional networking app for Facebook. the blazer over top of a well tailored dress is a great work option, one i've been rocking for months. i am always careful to make sure that my dresses are length appropriate, and don't show too much bust, but it definitely is a great strategy to expand the wardrobe.

Love each of the outfits! I have a similar black blazer and you're right, they are a great staple. My work arsenal is full of girly, slightly retro run blouses (in conservative cuts) and tailored pants in all neutral colours for mixing and matching! I can make dozens of outfits just out of those pieces. Good luck!!
